​Kim Caicedo holds a master’s degree in film directing from the American Film Institute, where her thesis film Francis won the DGA Student Jury Prize in the Latino category.

Her work has been recognized by the ARC Awards, Creativity International, the Webby Awards, and Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards. Her clients include – Adidas, Under Armor, META, BlackRock, Microsoft, and T–Mobile. Her debut feature, The Pines, won Best Florida Feature at the Freakshow Horror Film Festival and was nominated for Best Feature by NewFilmmakers LA.

Kim’s films have screened at festivals around the world, including the New York Latino Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, the Woodstock Film Festival, and the GuadaLAjara Film Festival. Her second feature is currently in post-production and slated for release in 2026.

 

Dedicated to preserving the art of celluloid, Kim often works with 16mm and 35mm formats, embracing the distinctive texture and specificity that film brings to her visual storytelling.
